Official Update β Easton Fire Incident 462 Northampton St.
On Friday, February 20, 2026, a three-alarm fire occurred at the Hotel Hampton, 462 Northampton Street, in downtown Easton. Emergency crews responded at approximately 10:45 a.m. to heavy fire conditions originating in the basement that quickly spread throughout the five-story structure.
Firefighters from Easton and multiple surrounding departments worked aggressively to rescue residents and contain the blaze. Several occupants were rescued from windows and fire escapes. Multiple injuries were reported, including one firefighter who sustained serious injuries. Several residents were treated for minor injuries and smoke inhalation.
The building sustained significant damage and is considered a total loss. Dozens of residents have been displaced. The American Red Cross has established assistance for those affected. The United way greater Lehigh valley has also set up a donation page for those affected.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

We would also like to recognize our dedicated Northampton county Dispatchers, whose professionalism and coordination were critical in managing this incident from the very first call. Additionally, our County Emergency Management Agency provided valuable on-scene support and resources to assist with operations and community needs.
