Playing with gold leaf! I had made burlwood earrings a few years ago but they didn't have much interest, so I decided to revamp the idea using gold leaf. They're turning out STUNNING! This is not real gold leaf, or at least I don't think someone would have left real gold leaf at Art supply thrift, classes & parties 📍 NJ 's thrift shop lol.

I will also be covered in bits of gold leaf until I die, I fear.

I had the absolute pleasure of making this custom tree for my dear friend Lena! She chose this Cherry Creek Jasper tower from my stash and requested the hematite wire to create this stunning piece! It's the biggest tower I've done yet, both in height and width, and each strand of wire needed to be 42" long to start to get the flowing roots! I'm obsessed with how it turned out and overjoyed to finally get it off to its owner.

Working on a custom!

This jasper tower is bigger and chunkier than most at 4" high, meaning I had to make sure the wires had longer than average tails. The wires on this one started at 42" long! Because of how the wires get twisted a lot of that length gets lost just in the creation of the tree itself, so I always overestimate how much tail I need in order to get a good wrap around the tower and some good free flowing roots at the end. This lad is a bit over halfway done and will be headed off to Greece to a dear friend over there!

I'm always open to customs and can send you photos of the towers/rocks I already have sourced or we can find the perfect one for you together!

Absolutely obsessed with these two gigantic Smokey Quartz points I scored at a rock swap! I'd gone to Sterling Hill Mining Museum for my birthday and didn't know there was a rocks and minerals show going until I got there. Spotted these at one booth and immediately knew they needed to be tree bases. I'm thinking a bright gold bonsai on each one for sure! ✨

Keita's tagline is "a kaleidoscopically creative collection" for a reason, and no it's not just because of the colors of the trees. It's because I do too many creative things and absolutely cannot stop. (Send help).

I'm working on getting back into watercolor painting and picked up some absolutely stunning metallic paints to play with. Definitely looking forward to doing more with these!

I figured maybe I should start sharing some of my other art over here instead of just on my personal page, especially since I'd like to do more with stickers and watercolor painting in the future as part of Keita!
