The Stonehill College Police Department is saddened to learn of the passing of Massasoit Police Department Lieutenant Robert Skahan following a courageous battle with cancer.

Rob served as a part-time officer with the Stonehill College Police Department for a brief time in 2022.

Although his time with us was short, he left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. His positive attitude and dedication to serving others made him a valued member of our community.

We extend our deepest condolences to the men and women of the Massasoit Police Department, as well as Rob's friends and family during this difficult time.

Rest easy, Lieutenant Skahan. 💜

Our shelled neighbors have returned to campus and may be spotted near ponds, sidewalks, and grassy areas. While they may look slow, they are not interested in making new friends.

If you see a snapping turtle, give it plenty of space and let it continue its journey. Please don't approach, touch, or try to move it. ‼️

Stay aware while walking around campus, and help keep both our community and our turtles safe! 🐢

🎉Today marks an incredible milestone - Lieutenant David Washington’s 20th anniversary with the Stonehill College Police Department! 🎉

David began his Stonehill career as a Community Service Officer, transferring to Campus Police Officer in 2006, and steadily rising through the ranks as Patrol Sergeant, Staff Sergeant, and now Lieutenant. His dedication, leadership and professionalism have shaped our department and strengthened campus safety for two decades.

A true champion of community policing, Lieutenant Washington is the Lead ALICE Instructor and a valued contributor to Health and Wellness and Residence Life programming, remaining deeply committed to education, preparedness, and partnership across campus.

Join us in thanking Lieutenant Washington, for 20 years of service, leadership and unwavering commitment to the Stonehill community! 💜👏
