Scenes from today's 9/11 Talbot County 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony, hosted by Talbot County Government. Due to the rain, the event was hosted indoors as the Talbot County Free Library. Patriotic music, moments of silence and remembrance, and moving speeches from our local leaders served as a powerful reminder of the events that unfolded 25 years ago today.

Thank you to Easton - MD Police Department, Talbot County Sheriff's Office, Easton Volunteer Fire Dept. MD, Talbot County Emergency Services (DES), to all of our first responders, and to the men and women who serve our country to keep us safe.

We're happy to announce the hiring of Mick Mitchell!

Mick has joined our Public Works Department's Engineering Division as the Survey Technician. When asked about the new role, Mick said, "I'm excited to bring my experience to the Town of Easton. I look forward to working with this team and helping to make Easton a better place."

Come out to the Talbot County Free Library tonight at 6pm to see a Citizens Academy presentation from Easton Mayor Megan Cook and Talbot County Council President Chuck Callahan!

Together they'll discuss the roles and responsibilities of Town and County governments, and detail how they work together to make our community stronger. Also...there's pizza! 🍕

COME OUT TODAY 11am-1pm!!

Join us on Friday, August 28 for a Pit Beef Fundraiser benefitting the Easton Police Department's Toy Drive! Food will be served fresh off the grill, from 11am-1pm at the Easton VFW Post 5118 located at 355 Glebe Rd.

For only $12 you get a delicious Pit Beef or Pit Turkey Sandwich cooked by Catering By Jamie along with chips and a cold drink. All proceeds will go to the EPD Toy Drive, which serves to ensure underprivileged local youths are able to receive presents under their tree this holiday season.

EPD will also have their mobile donation station on site, so feel free to get in the holiday spirit early and bring some new (in-package) toys for our local youth and their families to unwrap later this year.
