Dodge Connection-Communities In Schools of Dodge County, Inc. hosted a financial literacy event for 8th grade students at Dodge County Middle School on May 17th! RealityU brings a bit of “reality” to students, teaching about personal finance in an interactive and engaging way. Students complete an online survey about their projected life at age 26, including desired occupation and marital status. The information (along with current GPA) creates a scenario that includes the student’s occupation, family status, monthly income, credit score, and college loan information. The students have to visit 12 booths (managed by 30 community volunteers) and make selections to see if they can afford their desired lifestyle. Their checkbook register cannot fall below zero!

A huge thank you to all who volunteered to make this event a success!
