Last week, our K-9 handlers and their partners attended the annual Massachusetts Police Work Dog Association recertification workshop at Westover Air Reserve Base. During the week, our K-9s, Gino and Jerry, both successfully completed their national certification through the North American Police Work Dog Association.

Both dogs obtained the title of “Police Utility Dog” again, meaning they passed all of their patrol tests on the first attempt. They also recertified in their secondary specialties of Narcotics Detection.

Congratulations to both teams, and we appreciate the solid work of our K9 teams everyday!

Traffic Alert - Park Street - May 23, 2026

Please be advised that due to commencement events at the Williston Northampton School main campus on Saturday, May 23, 2026, a portion of Park Street between Greenwood Court and Payson Lane will be closed to traffic between the hours of 9:30AM to approximately 12:30PM. During that time, traffic will be detoured to Main Street via Greenwood Court and Payson Lane.

Great teamwork by the Easthampton and Northampton Police Departments!

NORTHAMPTON — Corey Griswold, 36, of Northampton, was sentenced to 5–7 years in state prison, followed by supervised probation for five years, by Superior Court Judge David M. Hodge in Hampshire Superior Court.
