🚶✨ Attention sidewalks: your moment has arrived.

This Saturday from 2–5 PM, downtown Easthampton will become the runway for Sidewalk Strut, Easthampton City Arts' celebration of creativity, community, and the fine art of walking around with purpose.

As planners, we spend a lot of time thinking about sidewalks. Connectivity. Accessibility. Pedestrian infrastructure. You know—the glamorous stuff.

But this weekend, we're thinking about sidewalks for what they were truly meant for: strutting.

Join us in the Cottage Street Cultural District for an afternoon of art, music, performances, and delightfully unexpected moments. Whether your strut says "supermodel," "dad heading to the hardware store," or "person chasing a runaway shopping cart," you're welcome here.

Come support Easthampton City Arts and local artists, celebrate our vibrant downtown, and give those sidewalks the attention they've been planning for all year.

Take the Downtown Wayfinding Survey! https://tinyurl.com/EasthamptonWayfinding2026

The City is encouraging residents, business owners, and visitors to participate in a community survey that will help shape the future of downtown navigation, signage, and overall visitor experience.

The survey is part of Phase II of the City’s Downtown Wayfinding Plan, an initiative supported by a Massachusetts Downtown Initiative grant and building on earlier community branding and wayfinding efforts. The City is working with transportation planners from Stantec on the project with the goal of creating a clear, cohesive system of signage that will improve how people move through and experience Easthampton’s downtown districts.

Community feedback is a critical component of the planning process. Responses to the survey will help identify key destinations, highlight navigation challenges, and inform the development of future wayfinding elements such as district naming, directional signs, and informational signs.

The survey is open now and takes only a few minutes to complete. Community members are encouraged to share their experiences traveling through Easthampton, including how they find local businesses, parks, cultural destinations, and parking. Note that survey responses will be collected through April 12, 2026.

Take the survey here: https://tinyurl.com/EasthamptonWayfinding2026

A public presentation of the Phase II Wayfinding Plan is expected in late spring of 2026 at a date to be announced.

For more information, visit easthamptonma.gov/432/Downtown-Wayfinding or contact Planning Director Allyson Manuel at 413-529-1400 x406 or via email at [email protected].
