EASTHAMPTON --A visitor to Easthampton might guess that its residents value patriotism, judging from the number of American flags flying downtown. Flags are flying from nearly every utility pole and municipal light post in the city center, creating a star-spangled display....

The meeting to see if I can continue to fly was postponed to December 2nd. The room was too small for the many people who wanted to attend.

Here is a summary of what led us here.

November 4 - my people get a notice from the city that the mayor wants my suspension cable removed because this 23 year tradition is "not permitted"

November 5 - my people respond to the folks who control the place where my cable is attached confirming that I am, in fact, permitted and have been for 23 years. We ask for affirmation that nothing has changed and I can still fly.

November 18 - my people are notified that the issue about me flying on the pond is now not about permitting but about lighting....people confuse me sometimes.
