We are glad to hear lots of people talking about how to support the Eastford Public Library this Monday!

As a reminder, the Board of Selectmen’s meeting is this Monday, August 3, at 7p. The librarians will be on the agenda to talk about how important the library is to our community (the community at large too, not just Eastford residents!), all the great programs they run, and how popular they have become year after year.

If you would like to come and support the library, please join us for the meeting. Please note that Citizens comments kick off the meeting so if you would like to share with the selectmen how important the library is to you, please arrive on time! The actual presentation by the librarians will take place later in the meeting (though I believe it is still towards the top of the agenda).

To all friends of the Eastford Public Library!

Questions have been circulating about the services the library provides and the larger role of the library within our community. As a result, the topic of the Library is on the upcoming July agenda for the to-be-rescheduled Eastford Board of Selectmen meeting.

If you believe in the importance of the Eastford Public Library (and libraries in general!), then please do any and all of the following:

- Head to the Library at 179 Eastford Road, Eastford, and fill out a paper copy of their survey. It can be anonymous!

- Can’t get to the Library? Comment below with a fun story or anecdote from your last visit.

- Once we have the date for the upcoming Selectmen’s meeting, come join us in person to support our librarians.

Come see us this Saturday at Eastford Elementary From 10-2! We will be staffing our book sale where all proceeds go to supporting the ongoing programs at Eastford Public Library.

Good news, the Eastford Public Library is so busy, we changed our meeting time to help accommodate all the great other groups that also use the space.

If you’d like to join us in person as we prepare for Experience Eastford, the Bridgerton Soiree, and summer reading, just to name a few upcoming events, then come on down!

Can’t make it? No problem. There’s lots of ways you can help. Comment below or flag down one of the Friends, Library Board Members, or the Librarians themselves for more information.

Today’s the day! Join us at 5p for our monthly Friends meeting! We will be debriefing on the Holiday Fair and talking about 2026 strategy.

Remember, anyone with any schedule can be a Friend. You can commit to supporting one event or many and can come to as many meetings as your schedule allows.

Soooo many wonderful things have been happening at our little library since the Friends of the Library formed several years ago! The Friends of the Eastford Public Library provide support by hosting annual fundraising events, volunteering, supplementing our programs, fulfilling our Wish Lists, and helping us to bring our vision for the future to fruition. Please consider joining! The Friends meet monthly at the library on the third Thursday at 5pm.

Thank you to everyone that came by to last week’s Holiday Fair! More details to come, but it was a rousing success all around. From all of our volunteers who donated, baked, and staffed the event to everyone who came out and bid on a basket or purchased one of the many wonderful items for sale.

You are all reminders of why we all call Eastford home.

There are a few items still for sale, so if you’re still looking for that stocking stuffer - or just a treat for yourself for getting through another week - swing on down to the Eastford Public Library and check out what’s still available!

BAKED GOODS: Saturday morning only between 8am - 9am. Please label items. 🍞🍪🍰🥧

Did you know that at this year's Holiday Fair, you have options!

Whether you are interested in bidding on some of this year's excellent baskets or snagging some baked goods to bring home, you now have the option of paying not just with cash or check, but also with your card!

That Yankee Swap on your calendar will be here before you know it. So don't worry about fighting the crowds at some of the big box stores. Shop local, support the library, and do it all without worrying about how much cash you have on hand.
