Eastchester EMS Eastchester Volunteer Ambulance Corps Please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have. EVAC is also always recruiting for new members.

Since 1952, the Eastchester Volunteer Ambulance Corps (EVAC) has provided the highest level of emergency medical care to all of its residents and visitors. Besides our response to all medical emergencies in the community using our operational leg of the Corps, Eastchester EMS, we also provide CPR classes to the community, stand-by ambulances at local events, parades and health fairs, and informati

onal sessions at schools, community groups, and other organizations. EVAC's dedicated volunteer membership of EMT's, Paramedics, drivers, and first responders, as well as its paid staff comprised of Paramedic's and EMT's, are proud to serve the community. Named 2014 EMS Agency of The Year by Westchester Regional EMS Council! Please visit our website at www.eastchesterems.com for more information. Remember, in an emergency, always dial 911!

For many families across the country, this weekend is leading up to a day where a loved one is being honored for their brave sacrifice in the service of this nation. Keeping along with the theme of EMS Week and awards, we wanted to highlight two people who won awards at WREMSCO this week. Our Medical Director Dr. Amit Shembekar won the Dr. Nicholas Derobertis Physician of the Year award and Dr. Dani Lestrange won the Nurse of Excellence award. Dani and Amit both work at New York Presbyterian Westchester and both individuals are integral partners of Eastchester EMS both on the operational and quality assurance/improvement fronts. Thank you to both Dr. Shembekar and Dr. Lestrange for their continued hard work and ensuring that Eastchester EMS remains as a front running pioneer in prehospital care in Westchester.

Eastchester EMS was invited to be part of a demonstration for the current EMT class at Westchester Community College.

Paramedics Desjardin and Samson who are also instructors for one of the current classes were joined by EMTs Artis and Bernstein and members Define (x2), Aurelio, and Preuss, as well as other area EMS agencies. Members from each agency showed the students different components of their units and helped to bridge the knowledge from the classroom and field experiences. We look forward to seeing these students on the road.

If you’re interested in emergency services, you don’t need to be an EMT to start at EVAC, just a CPR card. Fill out the application in our bio and get your start at Eastchester EMS.

Eastchester EMS was honored to invited to the annual Tuckahoe Easter egg hunt. Our members decided to bow out of the actual hunt to give the kids a fair shot, but were more than happy to spend some time with the community and further the bond we have with the village that we serve.
