Rescue Engine 3411 responded to a car fire this morning on Star Dr. The crew went into service on arrival and was available a little over an hour later. The incident is under investigation by the Eastampton FM.

HOT….. Today, Sunny and hot, with a high near 100. Heat index values as high as 107. West wind 10 to 15 mph.

Please make sure you are drinking plenty of water. Take frequent breaks. Check on those that could be adversely affected by the heat.

Today, just stay inside if you can.

In the winter time, we usually post reminders about clearing hydrants of snow to assist us if we respond to your home. Summer time brings its own set of issues. If you live along an area that has hydrants but might be overgrown with briars and ivy, can you please cut them back. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

EXTREME HEAT WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH SATURDAY EVENING
Instruction: Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. If you do not have air conditioning in your home or lack shelter, you can call 211 or visit your county or state health department website for assistance locating appropriate shelter from the heat.
Description: * WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 110 degrees possible during the daytime hours. * WHERE...Portions of northern Delaware, central and southern New Jersey, and southeast Pennsylvania. * WHEN...From Wednesday afternoon through Saturday evening. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Very warm low temperatures in the mid 70s to low 80s at night will not offer any relief from the heat. This combined with multiple days of near record breaking temperatures will exacerbate the impacts from the heat and humidity.
