Located in East Troy, WI, just 20 minutes from the resort area of Lake Geneva, WI, the East Troy Electric Railroad operates 10-mile round trip excursions from its historic depot and museum to the turn of the century-styled terminal at the renowned Elegant Farmer in Mukwonago, WI. The railroad and adjoining museum are home to over 20 rail treasures including open cars, locomotives, streetcars and i

nterurban coaches. The railroad also operates the only electric interurban dining car train in North America recreating the luxury that patrons once enjoyed when life seemed to pass by a little slower. The East Troy Electric Railroad is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization run by volunteers committed to the operation and preservation of historic trolleys and interurban railcars. All proceeds and sales benefit the education and preservation work of this museum.

Harvest Fest begins today!

🚃 Our electric trains and trolleys will be providing shuttle service between the East Troy Depot and fall-themed food and festivities at The Elegant Farmer!

🕓 The first train leaves East Troy at 10:00 and the last train leaves The Elegant Farmer at 4:00.

🎟️ Tickets are good on all trains all day long. Tickets can be purchased upon arrival at the East Troy Depot. You can board at either end.

Our electric trains will once again be running as shuttles between the East Troy Depot and endless fall fun at The Elegant Farmer!

🍂 Don’t miss Harvest Fest – Fall adventures are back aboard the East Troy Electric Railroad!

Every Saturday and Sunday from September 12 through October 25, Harvest Fest day passes allow guests to ride the trains throughout the day between the East Troy Depot and Elegant Farmer.

Explore the historic East Troy Town Square, enjoy autumn activities at The Elegant Farmer, and travel through the changing Wisconsin countryside aboard a historic electric train. Shuttle service offers plenty of flexibility, so you can board the next train whenever you are ready to continue your day.

This Month at ETRM!

August was incredible! We had incredible turnout for all of our train rides and so much support! On Railfan Day, we had a record number of riders and more unique experiences than ever before! On several days, we ran had many as five different trains on our railroad at the same time!

Behind the scenes, our volunteers contributed by bringing in our CRT 4000-series cars and open-air Car 21 for inspection and some touch-up! The St. Peter’s Road crossing was also replaced with great help from our friends at Volkmann Railroad Builders as the restoration of Car 162 continues onwards!

We are now approaching Harvest Fest! Who’s ready for fall fun and more train rides?

Behind the Scenes Sunday!

This past week, our volunteers teamed up with Volkmann Railroad Builders to replace our crossing at St. Peter’s Road! It is now a much smoother ride for both our trains and the automobiles on the road! This is the fifth crossing replaced on our 7-mile railroad in the past five years!
