Congratulations to Spencer Rootes and Ellie Hanson on their graduation from Tawas Area High School today!

Spencer completed our most recent EMT course and, after earning his National Registry certification in February and obtaining his Michigan EMT license, has been serving with Iosco County EMS after school and on weekends.

Ellie has been participating in the IRESA Student Ride-Along Program, riding with our crews weekly since December as part of her high school curriculum. She also serves her community as a Cadet Firefighter with the Tawas City Fire Department.

What makes their accomplishments even more impressive is that both Spencer and Ellie have been serving their community in professional public safety roles while completing high school. Today, they both graduated with honors!

We are incredibly proud of their dedication, work ethic, and commitment to helping others. The future of EMS and the fire service is bright with young professionals like these leading the way.

Congratulations, Spencer and Ellie! We wish you both continued success in all that lies ahead.

Your compassion, professionalism, teamwork, and commitment do not go unnoticed. The care you provide every day truly makes a difference in the lives of the patients and families we serve.

We also want to recognize and thank your families. The sacrifices they make are often unseen β€” the missed holidays, nights, weekends, and family events. Their support and understanding allow all of us to continue serving our communities, and for that we are incredibly grateful.

To all of our EMS providers and your families: thank you for everything you do, the sacrifices you make, and the dedication you continue to show each and every day.

Happy EMS Week from all of us at Iosco County EMS.

πŸš‘πŸ”₯ Huge Congratulations to Spencer Rootes! πŸ”₯πŸš‘

Spencer has officially become the 5th member of our most recent EMT cohort to successfully pass the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) β€” an incredible accomplishment!

Even more impressive, Spencer achieved this milestone while maintaining his grades and attending classes as a senior at Tawas Area High School. Balancing high school academics with the demands of EMT training takes serious dedication, time management, and determination.

Spencer is now officially a certified EMT, and we could not be more proud of the hard work and commitment he has shown. Achievements like this highlight the strength, passion, and future of EMS in our community.

The future is bright β€” congratulations, Spencer! πŸ‘πŸš‘πŸ’ͺ
