IOSCO AND ARENAC COUNTY RESIDENTS -- IT’S HAPPENING AGAIN!

LOOK AT ALL THESE BOXES OF FREE BOOKS!

The Iosco-Arenac District Library’s FREE BOOKS BY THE BOX GIVEAWAY is back!
Books are culled from the shelves of the eight library branches, packed into sturdy boxes, and are FREE for the asking! We have a variety of genres for you and plenty of great reads waiting for new homes.

Here’s how it works:

WHERE:
Books are stored at Administrative Headquarters, 120 Westover Street, East Tawas – enter at the Sawyer Street DELIVERY entrance.

WHEN:
Stop by between 10 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
• Tuesday, September 8
• Wednesday, September 9
• Friday, September 11

NO APPOINTMENT NECESSARY!

TAKE AS MANY BOXES AS YOU’D LIKE!
The boxes are packed and ready to go. Boxes cannot be opened on-site and cherry-picked -- it’s a surprise grab-bag! You won’t know exactly what treasures are inside until you get home!

Limit 1 box of Audiobooks and Large Print (boxes are extremely limited)
Children's books limited to non-fiction this time around so keep your eyes peeled for the next giveaway.

THERE IS NO CHARGE.
We simply want these books to find good homes and be enjoyed!

The City of Omer, in partnership with the Iosco-Arenac District Library, is accepting applications for a Library Manager.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who believes in the mission of public libraries and is ready to serve their community by leading a customer-focused library that connects patrons with resources, services, and opportunities!

This position is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the library as its sole employee. Applicants should have previous library experience, a strong understanding of public library service, and the ability to work independently while managing all aspects of branch operations, including circulation, shelving, and routine library tasks, while maintaining a welcoming environment for patrons.

The successful candidate must be comfortable using and learning library technologies, including integrated library software, digital library platforms, and Microsoft Office applications. They must also be able to assist patrons with basic technology questions.

In addition, the applicant should be able to collaborate not only with a variety of community organizations but other employees of the Iosco-Arenac District Library system.
