Bolivia and Ecuador where returned today because the owner was unable to care for them. At the moment, they are being treated for fleas and earmites. If I can get the to the vet this week, they will be available for adoption on the 19th along with the other 4 bunnies. They are a mother daughter pair of flemish giants.

The adoption fee is $200.00 for the pair.

Adoption Day is Saturday, September 19th from 12-3.

Squirrel: It is much bigger than the cage I am used to.
Me: You are growing up so you need a bigger space and you are ready to be outside.
Squirrel: What happens when I outgrow this cage?
Me: We will open the door and you can have the world.
Squirrel: I need snacks!

Squirrel moved to soft release today. He will be supported throughout the winter. We have more squirrels that will be transferring to here over the Columbus Day/Indigenous people's day weekend. They will also need to be supported throughout the winter.

We are accepting donations of Black Walnuts, Butternuts, and store bought nuts, both shelled and in shells, and Squirrel mix.

The Bunkhouse is ready for Raccoons!!!! Tomorrow we will be planting the last 4 trees and seeding this area. That will complete the work on the Raccoon Release area.

We will also be finishing? Wilbur's Pond tomorrow.

If you want to help finish 2 major areas, come on out tomorrow. We will be doing animal care at 8:30 and heading into the woods at 9:00. We will be breaking off at noon.

We are having change in plans. The trees are here and the raccoons are not. So, we will be finishing up the roof and then planting trees and grasses in the Raccoon Release area. This will complete this area. If you want to help, we will be working on Saturday and Sunday from 8:30- 12.

What is hopefully the last big group of cottontails are being released today. These 14 are part of the 7th and hopefully the last litter of 2026.

I am not going to jinx it by putting away the incubator quite yet, but I am ready to be done for the year.
