We hope you have a happy and safe July 4th weekend! Please remember that fireworks are PROHIBITED at all Middle Smithfield Township parks.
Consumer fireworks are regulated by the State. Here are the specific state regulations:
They cannot be ignited or discharged on a public or private property without express permission of the property owner.
They cannot be discharged from or within a motor vehicle or building.
They cannot be discharged toward a motor vehicle or building.
They cannot be discharged within 150 feet of an occupied structure, whether or not a person is actually present.
They cannot be discharged while the person is under the influence of alcohol, a controlled substance, or another drug.
Fireworks cannot be set off within 150 feet of a house or a commercial building, even if people aren’t in the building. That’s ½ the size of a football field.
Fireworks should not be handled by someone under the influence.
