This morning, Chief Dennis Rivelli, Deputy Chief Tom Berlinski and several members of the East Rutherford Police Department were in attendance for the Riggin Field Track dedication to former Mayor, James Cassella.

The dedication commemorates Mayor Cassella's time in public service as our Mayor of 24 years and his contributions to the state of the art athletic complex, Riggin Field.

Thank you Mayor, well-deserved!

Most fatal crashes happen within 25 miles from home and at speeds of less than 40 mph. Buckle up. Every Ride. Every Seat.

Seat belts are not only quick and easy to use but they give you the best chance of surviving a crash. The road and other drivers are unpredictable. What’s stopping you from saving your own life?

Every passenger in every seat is required to buckle up in New Jersey. Our Agency is out enforcing New Jersey’s lifesaving seat belt laws this month.

Drivers – make sure everyone riding with you is buckled and safe.

Hackensack Street will be closed today in both directions between Union Avenue and the Rutherford border due to ongoing road construction. The work is expected to be finished by 5pm.

Please plan an alternate route and be patient when navigating the area.

Do not drive around marked police vehicles or traffic cones.

NJ TRANSIT was advised of the road closure and will modify the 76L bus route. Please contact them with any bus concerns.

Earlier today, Chief Dennis Rivelli was honored by the Bergen County Police Chiefs Association in recognition for his dedication to public service and commitment to the Chiefs Association and the Law Enforcement community as a whole.

Congratulations to Chief Rivelli for receiving the Chiefs Achievement Award today while attending the Active Chiefs meeting held at the Bergen County Fire Academy at the Law & Public Safety Institute.

Reminder for tomorrow.

Park Avenue is scheduled to be milled and paved Tuesday through Friday, weather permitting.

Please move your vehicles off the streets by 7am.

⚠️ Park Avenue Residents and Businesses ⚠️

Weather permitting, the Borough has scheduled the milling and paving of Park Avenue, in its entirety, from Paterson Avenue to Union Avenue

The work is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, May 26 and be completed on Friday, May 29. During the milling phase, residents and businesses will have limited access to their driveways and parking lots. During the paving phase, the roadway will not be accessible to vehicular traffic.

If you live, work or own a business in this area, please plan accordingly and forward this information to your patrons and clients.

The work is scheduled to be done between the hours of 7am and 5pm.

⚠️ Hackensack Street Closure ⚠️

Due to emergency road construction, Hackensack Street between Union Avenue and the Rutherford border will be closed in both directions until approximately 5pm today. Union Avenue towards Route 17 will still be accessible to vehicular traffic.

Additionally, Park Avenue, northbound, will be closed from the Rutherford border to Orchard Street until approximately 5pm today.

Please be patient and do not drive around traffic cones or marked police vehicles. Plan an alternate route if you plan on traveling these areas.
