After a month break our September USCF rated tournament starts tonight at the East Providence Senior Center at 6:30 pm, time control G/45;d5.

No chess at EPCC for the month of August 2026.

There will be construction happening throughout the month at the Senior Center where we meet.

We will resume our monthly USCF rated tournaments starting on September 1st 2026.

Chess at EPCC is cancelled this week (July 21st, 2026). We are scheduled to resume next week (7/28).

Re-paving of the parking lot at our venue is expected to happen soon. This may cause us to miss a week in the near future. We'll post here to give notice of any disruption to our schedule.

Lou was a regular at our club. Always a tough competitor and great sportsman. Check out OSCA's event info for May 9th. It's great to have tournament in his memory.

Time Controls:Open & U1700 Sections = G/40;+5 = Each player gets 40 min. with +5 sec. increment U1200 & U800 Sections = G/30;+5 = Each player gets 30 min. with +5 sec. increment

----- Blizzard update for February 24 2026 -----
No chess this week at EPCC on February 24 due to the blizzard hitting the area on February 22/23.

We only completed two rounds in February due to snow storms. We will continue our February tournament on March 3.

----- Location change as of January 2026 -----

We've recently shifted our game night to Tuesdays at a new location. The East Providence Senior Center, 610 Waterman Ave, East Providence, RI 02914.

We still start gathering around 6:30pm. Arriving early is best because pairings need to be completed by 6:50 so we can start games promptly at 7pm.

We still mostly play USCF rated tournament games. One game per week, usually in month long, 4 round tournaments. Our time control now is G/45;d5 (game in 45 minutes with a 5 second delay).
