East Providence City Workers - USW Local 15509 - East Providence, RI The members of the United Steelworkers Local 15509 are employed by the City of East Providence If you see us out there, say hello!

We are laborers, auto and heavy equipment operators, facility maintainers, landscape artists, groundskeepers, dispatchers, clerks, animal control officers, library aids, water utility workers, street sweepers, asphalt layers, snow plowers and so much more! We work hard to build, repair, maintain, and preserve almost every aspect of the City, we serve the community with pride, and many of us are townies as well!

Congratulations to our member Carolyn LaMarre retiring after 25 years of service! Carolyn started in the treasury department before spending most of her career assisting residents in the Water Dept. Helping guide the dept through storms, water meter changeovers, and billing changes, Carolyn was a force that got the work done! Thank you for all your years of hard work and enjoy your retirement!
