Sammy the Sea Otter, a US Coast Guard mascot that aims to teach children about the importance of wearing a life jacket and being safe on the water, paid a visit to the Chatsworth Public Library during story time while Norma Koerner, a Librarian was reading a story about Otters.

Do to the efforts of Flotilla 08-05 of Peoria Illinois Sammy The Otter who is the Mascot for the US Coast Guard visited residents and staff at Sugar Creek Senior Center in Normal Illinois today. Sammy the Otter is in the area for the next few weeks to help promote boating safety in conjunction with Flotilla 08-05s 50th Anniversary on April 05th.
