Thank you to everyone who has reached out with support and care for our law enforcement community while Kayla and the EPPD navigate these heartbreaking times.
A number of people have inquired as to how they may be able to help Kayla and the boys. Please see the link attached from the EPPD.
The support has been tremendous from our community and it is very much appreciated.

The East Peoria Police Department would like to send out our thanks for all of the outpouring of love and support from everyone in the community and all of our partner agencies for the loss of Detective Vester. We have received many requests on how people can help Detective Vester's family. A Memorial Fund has been created with the help of Hometown Community Banks. Anyone can donate to "The Vester Family Memorial Fund" at any of the Hometown Community Bank locations. Thank you all again!

I would like to congratulate Michael Powell who was promoted today to the rank of Sergeant.

Sergeant Powell has been with the Fon du Lac Park District Police Department since June, 2024 and has been a great asset to the Fon du Lac Park District. Sergeant Powell has many years of service in Law Enforcment, fire service, rescue and served proudly with the United States Coast Guard.

We are confident he will continue to serve this community with honor and integrity at the highest level.

Members of the Fon du Lac Park Police Department had the privilege of representing the park district at this year’s Peoria Boat, RV and Vacation expo at the Peoria Civic Center. Along with Eastport Marina, we provided water, boat and general safety information to the public.
The crowds and the show were great! Thanks to Brad and Justin from Eastport Marina for all the help.
It won’t be long and water season will be back upon us. Be sure to be checking those navigation lights, trailers and all your equipment!

50% of all admission and 100% of all tips will benefit Marine Law Enforcement, Rescue, and Recovery Services right here in Central IL!

Come visit the lights at the Winter Wonderland on Christmas Eve, Christmas night or New Years Eve. The Fon du Lac Park Police Department will be manning the booth. A portion of the proceeds will go to help support the Maritime Rescue, recovery and law enforcement program.
