The East Palo Alto City Council held a Special Meeting on Tuesday, June 9, addressing two major items.

The Council deadlocked 2–2 on a proposed Temporary Housing Development Incentive Program that would have temporarily reduced the city's inclusionary housing requirements to encourage new development. The item is expected to return to a future agenda.

In a unanimous vote, the Council approved a three-year bridge agreement with Veolia Water North America-West to maintain continuity of water services while the city evaluates long-term options for managing its water system. Residents are encouraged to stay informed and engaged on both issues.

Last Friday, we partnered with Menlo Park Fire Protection District, County of San Mateo - Government Emergency Management, Thrive Alliance, Youth Community Service, Anamatangi, and rEPAct to host an Emergency Preparedness Workshop for our residents.

Participants learned emergency preparedness tips, local resources, and received a free emergency starter bag to help prepare themselves and their families for unexpected events.

Together, the workshop's impact reached an estimated 106 community members through the sharing of preparedness information and resources.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and to our community partners for helping make East Palo Alto more prepared and resilient.
