Please share the FCCD (Florida Council on Crime & Delinquency-Putnam/St. Johns counties) Chapter 26, Putnam & St. Johns counties will be collecting donations for the First Responders to the fires in Putnam County. We will be a drop off location for these items. The items may be dropped off at the Admin building anytime between 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. If after hours, they may drop them off at the control room.
As of today, Putnam County has a 4,112 acre fire in Northern Putnam County near Bostwick and the county line that is only 50% contained with winds still blowing near 15-20 mph.
We also have the following fires:
Interlachen area – 325 acre fire, 85% contained
South Hwy. 19 area (Mondex) – 250 acre fire, 80% contained
Millican Rd. area (Bostwick) – 50 acre fire, 70% contained
Thankfully, St. Johns County does not have any at this time.
Our First Responders are stretched thin and spread out to combat these fires. Let’s help them as much as possible.
