Congratulations to Donna K for being this years Blackstone grill raffle winner!!
A big thank you to everyone who purchased tickets for the raffle and especially who turned down the prize because they "just wanted to donate to the fire company." Your donations help us continue to be ready to answer the next call.

Today at 3:19pm we were dispatched for a reported boat in distress in the Kinderhook Creek in the area behind 2284 US 20. Upon arrival we located two males in a damaged canoe trapped by the swift water of the recent rainstorms. Initial efforts to reach them were hampered by the high-water levels. The victims were able to safely transition to a large rock which allowed them to stay dry while addition help was requested. With the assistance of multiple agencies both victims were safely rescued and moved to dry land at 5:57pm.

We would like to thank the following agencies for their assistance:

Poestenkill Fire Department
Melrose Fire Department
Stephentown Fire Department
Rensselaer County Bureau of Public Safety Fire and EMS
Hoag’s Corners Ambulance

Stephentown Ambulance
New York State Police
Schodack Police
Rensselaer County 911

And the family and friends of all that responded who had their plans uprooted for these volunteers to come assist us.

Your hard work, dedication, and perseverance have brought you to this exciting milestone, and we wish you all the best as you begin the next chapter of your journey.

As you look toward the future, we encourage you to consider giving back to your community by volunteering with your local fire department or emergency services. Whether it's firefighting, EMS, or supporting your neighbors in times of need, volunteers are the backbone of our communities. The friendships you build, the skills you gain, and the difference you make are truly life-changing.

Update: trucking company has been found - thank you all for caring!

🚨🚨 Unfortunately on Friday May 29th around 1pm
this truck MAY HAVE backed into our firehouse hall causing significant damage to our door and wall!

Does anyone know this truck or maybe a delivery was made to someone in our area?

NYSP are investigating at this time. ANY LEADS ARE APPRECIATED!
