The East Moriches Hook and Ladder Co. #1 is the professional volunteer fire service for East Moriches in the Town of Brookhaven, New York. Members of the East Moriches Fire Department constantly go through training to prepare and be able to handle any situation that is thrown at them.

The members of the East Moriches Fire Department are honored to have received a Life Saving Award from REMSCO in recognition of their actions during a critical emergency in 2025.

Our firefighters responded to an individual who was choking and subsequently found in cardiac arrest. Through quick action, teamwork, and lifesaving care, the patient was successfully resuscitated.

We would also like to recognize the outstanding assistance provided by the East Moriches Ambulance during this incident. Their teamwork and professionalism played an important role in this successful outcome.

This recognition reflects the dedication, training, and commitment of the members of the East Moriches Fire Department who proudly serve our community every day. We are extremely proud of all involved in this lifesaving effort. đźš’
