The Recreation Department is an Equal Opportunity Employer, and offers temporary, part time, and seasonal employment throughout the year promoting four seasons of recreation opportunities for our local youth. Our main office is located in East Millinocket at the lower level of the municipal building, 53 Main St. - direct entrance
behind building - and our Millinocket field office is located at the Rec. next to Stearns Jr/Sr High School. We partner with community schools, utilizing their gyms and fields for our sports camp programs, as well as host two outdoor aquatic facilities in each town. The department is managed by Recreation Director Cody McEwen. Cody is a Registered Maine Recreational Guide, a Lifeguard Instructor through the American Red Cross, as well as a Wilderness First Responder through Wilderness Medical Associates International. He serves as both the lead department Administrator, and Aquatics Director. The department maintains our parks, offers year round recreational activities, and assists in community endeavors where needed.
