Girls On The Run Long Island GOTR Long Island inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident. The program culminates with the girls being prepared to run a 5k!

A physical activity-based program for girls grades 3-8 to provide tools to help them grow physically and emotionally over the course of the 10-week curriculum.

Girls on the Run Long Island is proud to have the support of our community and our elected officials as we continue our mission to empower girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident.

We were honored to have several special guests attend our Spring 5K and share a few inspiring words as our 5K participants prepared to take on 3.1 miles in Eisenhower Park.

We give a big Energy Award and thank you to Hempstead Town Supervisor John Ferretti, Legislator Tom McKevitt, Legislator Olena Nicks, and Legislator Debra Mulé.

We truly appreciate the time you all took to come cheer our girls on. Your support means the world to us. Thank you!

We have the best GOTR Coaches! This spring, our Girls on the Run Long Island coaches did so much more than lead lessons. They served as mentors, cheered on every accomplishment, and celebrated alongside their teams all the way to the 5K finish line.

This Global Running Day, we're celebrating every step, every smile, and every finish line crossed this season.

Just days after our Spring 5K celebration, we're still feeling the joy, confidence, and sense of accomplishment our participants carried across the finish line. At Girls on the Run Long Island, running is about so much more than miles, it's about discovering your Happy Pace, building confidence, and realizing your limitless potential.

Here's to moving forward with joy, supporting one another, and celebrating the power of every pace. Happy Global Running Day!

Our GOTR Long Island 5K Volunteers truly made the day feel extra special, and we thank all of them from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to help us execute this amazing events for our GOTR girls and their families.

Our volunteered arrived as early at 6am on Saturday to help us set up with additional volunteers helping with check-in, Happy Hair, face painting, water stations, cheer stations, finish line medals, post-race refreshments and even our hype squad. We couldn't do this without you!
