Ready to learn more about digital scholarship at MSU Libraries? 💻📚

Join the Digital Scholarship Lab tomorrow, Thursday, Sept. 10, from 4 to 5 p.m. for an informational session about the 2026-27 DSL Project Incubator Program. Learn more about the program, the call for proposals and how you can develop a digital scholarship project with support from the DSL.

The session will be held in the DSL Project Room J, with a virtual option available via Zoom.

Join MSU Libraries on Thursday, Sept. 10, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. for a hands-on workshop introducing MSU Commons, a scholarly communication tool open to all members of the MSU community.

Learn how you can use MSU Commons to share your work through an open-access repository, join discussion groups, create a WordPress site and more. The workshop will provide time for hands-on exploration and questions.

This workshop will be presented by MSU College of Arts & Letters Knowledge Commons User Engagement Manager Larissa Baca MSU Libraries Reference and Discovery Services Kristen Lee.

Join contributing authors of the recently published “Lingering Inland” and “On An Inland Sea” on Friday, Sept. 18, for a conversation about what it means to write the Midwest! Authors Cal Freeman, Jeffrey Insko, Sarah Pazur and Ramya Swayamprakash will explore the ways memory, landscape and belonging shape identity and storytelling across the region.

Moderated by MSU Writing, Rhetoric, and Cultures Assistant Professor Dawn Burns and English Assistant Professor Tim Conrad, the conversation will look to intertwine the shared threads that connect Midwest communities across generations.

This event is part of the third annual Lansing Lit festival and is generously sponsored by the MSU Libraries; the Department of Writing, Rhetoric, and American Cultures at Michigan State University; the Michigan State University Department of English; and the MSU Center for Integrative Studies in the Arts and Humanities. The event is free and open to all, but registration is required. Registrants can receive a free copy of either “Lingering Inland” or “On An Inland Sea,” available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
