From Ingham County Emergency Management [THU 9:35PM] A line of storms approaching a Grand Rapids to Kalamazoo line continues to move in our direction, with an estimated arrival time of 10:30-11pm. This has a history of gusty winds and a some downed trees & power lines, however radar is occasionally picking up rotation which may indicate a tornado is mixed in. So far no tornadoes have been spotted in that line.
Another batch of supercell thunderstorms in northwest Indiana is moving to the northeast, and those have a history of tornadoes. That's still several hours away if it even holds together but we'll continue to monitor.
CHARGE YOUR PHONES! Hold off on going to bed until this first line has passed at least if you can

Please be aware of intermittently slower traffic beginning tomorrow (THURSDAY, June 11) as the City's contractor begins refreshing the pavement markings on major streets, including:

🚧Coolidge Road
🚧Lake Lansing Road
🚧 Abbot Road
🚧 Harrison Road
🚧 Hagadorn Road

And local roads such as Marigold Avenue and West Street.

This refresh will NOT require lane closures, but it may create slower traffic, especially since several of these roads are the detour routes for other construction projects in the area. Please be considerate of others with whom you share the road. Drive slowly and stay focused.

Revitalizing these pavement markings will provide clearer direction to drivers, cyclists and pedestrians, resulting in an all-around safer transportation system for residents and visitors.
