Quinebaug Valley Emergency Communications is a regional Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) providing 911 call receipt and dispatch services for 20 towns in Windham and New London Counties. QVEC dispatches 40 fire & emergency medical agencies – law enforcement matters are transferred to five state and local police jurisdictions within our coverage area.

This evening we have taken numerous calls for open burning in outdoor fire pits. As a reminder, the State of Connecticut is discouraging all outdoor fires and recreational burning until the extreme fire danger passes. Please refrain from engaging in this activity to help keep everyone safe. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

The Statewide 911 issue has been resolved. All CT 911 systems are function normally.

Please be advised that the State of CT 9-1-1 system is currently experiencing issues. If you cannot call 9-1-1, please text to 9-1-1.
Please DO NOT TEST 9-1-1 unless you have an ACTUAL EMERGENCY.
We are aware of the issues and have been testing our 9-1-1 and admin phone systems frequently to ensure that things are working properly and will continue to do so until the statewide is resolved.

!!!AT&T Wireless Outage!!!
Currently AT&T Wireless and FirstNet is experiencing a widespread outage. Customers may not be able to make or receive Voice and Data calls to and from mobile devices including 911. Calls to 911 from other Wireless carriers and landlines are not impacted at this time. We are currently monitoring the situation and will provide further information as it becomes available.

Verizon Wireless reports a restoration of service statewide. QVEC has tested with Verizon devices and can confirm it rings through to 911.

VERIZON Wireless is currently experiencing a statewide issue with mobile phones unable to connect to landline telephone numbers, including 911.

**All QVEC phone lines are working properly**

**Text to 911 from Verizon devices works**

The issue is on Verizon’s end and they are currently working on a resolution.
