The East Haven Fire Department regrets to announce the passing of Retired Firefighter Dan Dudek. Firefighter Dudek served in the department for 26 years before retiring in 2021. Six months post retirement Dan received the devastating news he had pancreatic cancer. Our thoughts are with the Dudek family during this tragic time.

Last night members of all four East Haven Volunteer Fire Companies and Company One Ladies Auxiliary in addition to departments from neighboring towns responded to assist East Haven Firefighters Local 1205 in fighting a large pampas grass fire and provide Signal 11 resources for many hours from Prospect Place Extension to behind Calabro Cheese. During this period of time Coe Avenue was closed from Dodge Avenue to Silver Sands Rd, thanks to East Haven Police Department.
