Earlier this morning, C4, Trk3, Sq5, and R1 were dispatched to the 800blk of Foxon Rd for a reported car into a building. Upon arrival, members found a car had driven through the front of a commercial store. Companies worked to secure the building, and one person was evaluated on scene. Luckily no major injuries were reported.

Our thoughts are with FF. Kochera’s family and the members of the New Haven Fire Department mourn this sudden tragedy.

Earlier this morning C4, R1, and Sq1 responded to a motor vehicle accident requiring extrication. Members arrived on scene and quickly removed the occupant who was in serious condition. The patient was then transported to YNHH by EHFD and AMR paramedics.

Members participated in this year’s annual YNHH Center for EMS award ceremony. We want to congratulate FF/Medic Joe Benzi for being awarded the YNHH Paramedic of the Year award. We also had the privilege to meet a member of the community who was successfully resuscitated after being found in cardiac arrest by members of Sq5 and Truck 3. (Pictured FF/Medic Chris Hughes.
