Throwback Thursday.....Throughout the 1960's, vast improvements were made to the Fire Department, among those was new equipment, in 1968 the town placed its first aerial ladder into service. As the Foxon area continued to grow with new residential, businesses and schools, the older truck was given to Fire Company 3 as their first ladder truck

Hump Day History.....Foxon Park Beverages was founded in 1922 by Matteo Naclerio, an immigrant from Italy. He embraced the entrepreneurial spirit of his era and decided to open up a beverage company called 'Foxon Park ', named after the neighborhood where he resided. Foxon Park Beverages is proudly protected by the Foxon Volunteer Fire Company.

Milestone Monday.....by 1954, the growth and increase in housing in Foxon was happening in leaps and bounds, with new housing tracts being built in Glenmoor, Maplevale, High Ridge and Summit Gardens, just to name a few with over 1500 new homes being built and occupied in these developments.
In March 1954, a delegation from the Foxon Volunteer Fire Company approached the Town Council requesting funding for an addition the existing firehouse/community center. Although the Council was in favor of the idea, the funding just simply wasn't there.
The delegation even offered to build the addition to the existing Community House and/or construct an entirely new building themselves. Again, the council liked the idea, and even suggested a police substation be included in the construction.
After receiving no assistance from the town, James Minehan, the captain of the Fire Company and his wife, took out a $4000.00 loan in 1957, hired a contractor, and put an addition on the existing Community House which included a second, larger garage bay and a second floor meeting room.
