📣Sounds of Summer Update: Due to the extreme heat, the first concert of our 2026 season has been moved INDOORS to the East Hartford Community Center Auditorium located at 50 Chapman Place.

East Hartford Parks & Recreation and the Shaded Soul Band are excited to see you all tonight as we kick off our Sounds of Summer Concert Series!

What an incredible weekend at the Special Olympics Connecticut Summer Games last weekend!!

East Hartford Parks & Recreation was proud to have more than 30 athletes participate, showcasing their determination, sportsmanship, and talent in Swimming and Track & Field events!

Our athletes brought home so many medals, but even more importantly, they demonstrated courage, perseverance, and the true spirit of competition. We couldn't be prouder of each and every participant!

Congratulations to all of our athletes, coaches, families, and supporters who made this unforgettable experience possible. Thank you for representing East Hartford with such pride!

East Hartford Parks & Recreation teamed up on the volleyball court with Mr. Girard, at Sunset Ridge Middle School, to start the process of growing their afterschool Volleyball Clinics.

Over 35 students took part in the clinic and 3 students from the East Hartford High School volleyball team came over to help out, too! East Hartford Parks & Recreation helped by supplying new equipment and shirts for the participants to proudly wear at school and in the community!

8th grade students, Lily and Lilly, not only took part in the clinic, but they also collected data and researched the impact of having a program like this at their school, as part of their IB Community Awareness Project.

Thank you so much to everyone involved and we look forward to working together again!

Please join us in wishing good luck to our East Hartford Special Olympians, who are headed to the Special Olympics Connecticut Summer Games this weekend!

Our Olympians will be taking part in swimming and track & field events!

If you can’t tell from this photo, they are super excited to be heading down there this weekend and we are so excited for them, too!!

Good luck, and have so much fun!!! We can’t wait to share more pictures!!

Helping kids explore new sports and build confidence through our recreation programs is what it’s all about!!
