East Hartford Public Library celebrates America 250 and the 30th anniversary of Mark Harutunian’s book, "June 14, 1996: A day in the life of East Hartford," which documented life in town over a 24-hour period. The book was a compilation of the work of many local photographers who attempted to capture the essence of East Hartford on a single day.

We invite community members to again capture a snapshot of town life over the period of June 14, 2026. from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.

Photographs may be submitted by email to Sandy DiCicco at [email protected], or via Facebook Messenger to East Hartford Public Library.

Please include:
➡️ Time photo was taken
➡️ Location of photo (must be in East Hartford)
➡️ By submitting your photo, you agree to allow EHPL to display your photo in an upcoming exhibit, and use it in our social media promotion.

Photographs from the original June 14, 1996 publication can be viewed in the lower level of the Raymond Library. Photographs submitted to the 30th anniversary project will be shared on Facebook and displayed at the East Hartford Public Library.
