U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 014-25-04 East Hartford CT A forum for information and posts about Coast Guard Auxiliary activities including flotilla 25-04 events, educational classes, and membership information.

Flotilla 25-04 is fortunate to have boating, aviation, and land based operation members. Our boaters support the United States Coast Guard on and off the water. Operations and missions include: watch standing at USCG Station New London, weekend safety patrols, courtesy boat safety checks, public education classes (from basic to advanced on boating and navigation), marine domain awareness efforts,

and search & rescue. The aviation wing flies missions over New York City, Long Island Sound, the Hudson and Connecticut rivers, and Lake Champlain. Our air crews are critical assets in the U.S. Coast Guard's mission to protect the homeland and provide air support during search and rescue operations. We are America's volunteer lifesavers, and we would be happy to speak with you at your local marina, boat ramp, marine dealer, or even the next boat show! Our monthly flotilla meetings are on the second Tuesday of the month at Goodwin University in East Hartford, CT Room 311 beginning at 1900 or 7 p.m.

We Invite You to Join Us. The Greater New Britain community is invited to attend Wreaths Across America Day New Britain 2023 on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 12 noon at Fairview Cemetery. The event, part of the National Wreaths Across America Day taking place at thousands of cemeteries and other locations nationwide, will feature guest speakers, student performers and ceremonial wreath placements honoring each branch of the military and POWs/MIAs. Early that day, volunteers will place more than 1,300 wreaths on the gravesites of those who served and those we’ve lost.

The summer may be over, but it's still possible to paddle in the Fall and Winter. As the old saying goes, "There is no bad weather, only bad clothing choices." Our friends at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Headquarters have some good tips here about the right clothing and equipment for cold weather paddling. And don't forget, dress for the water and air temperatures!

πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Remembering September 11th πŸ™

Today, as we mark the 22nd anniversary of the tragic events of September 11, 2001, we come together to remember the lives lost, the heroes who emerged, and the enduring spirit of unity that defines our great nation πŸ—½β€οΈ.

On this solemn day, we pay tribute not only to the brave first responders and civilians who demonstrated extraordinary courage, but also to the countless volunteers who stepped up in the face of adversity.

Their unwavering dedication and selflessness in the aftermath of 9/11 provided critical support, comfort, and assistance to those in need. They demonstrated the true power of community and solidarity during our darkest hours.

Let's take a moment to remember, honor, and express our gratitude to all of the first responders, Team Coast Guard shipmates, volunteers, and organizations who played a vital role in the response efforts and continue to serve our communities today. 🀝🌟

As we reflect on this day, may we never forget the importance of coming together in times of crisis and working hand in hand to build a brighter, more resilient future. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ’ͺ
