Our clients got quite a treat last week! Flowers, pots and supplies were donated by Fowler's Garden Center in Southampton, and the plants were arranged by the Youth Group at Grace Presbyterian Church in Watermill. The children in the Youth Group wrote out special individual cards which were enjoyed by many. Thank you for teaching our youth compassion!

Did you know we offer meals 365 days a year? Yes, as we remember our service men and women who sacrificed their lives for our country this Memorial Day, our volunteers also served their community on this solemn day. Today's dinner was creamy macaroni and cheese with peas and a crispy bread crumb topping.

The United Methodist Chuch teamed up with us and presented our clients who are undergoing cancer treatment a special support bag. The bags include a cozy blanket, water bottle, colored pencils with puzzle books, notebook, mints, a hat or a head scarf for ladies, mouthwash and skin lotion. This is a good time to remind folks that Meals on Wheels isn't just for the elderly. Anyone who is temporarily disabled, undergoing treatment for cancer or other diseases, who otherwise cannot shop or cook for yourself is eligible. Call our office weekdays at 631 329-1669 to apply.

Our homebound friends received some happy gifts today with their meals. Hand-made cards were done by the Pre-K, First, and Second grades at the John Marshall Elementary School. Colored pencils and the sunflower coloring page were a Passover/Easter/Spring gift from Meals on Wheels. Happy, happy everyone!
