Another round of training in the books for Recruit Class of 2026!

Thank you to the Training Committee for putting this together and a huge thanks to FF/Paramedic Craig Haigh for getting the vehicles we used.

Recruits spent several hours practicing vehicle extrication and patient packaging. This was a ton of fun, and a super awesome opportunity for everyone.

Time of Call: 09:31:49
Address: 200 6th Street
Nature: Smoke in the Residence
Damage: $1,200

On the above date and time the East Dubuque Fire Department (EDFD) along with automatic aid from Menominee-Dunleith Fire Department (MDFD) were dispatched for smoke in the residence coming from the dryer. Upon going en route EDFD was advised by the East Dubuque Police the best access would be the alley behind 557 De Soto. Engine 210 arrived on scene and reported a small 2 story residence with a walk-out basement and nothing showing. E210 had MDFD stage at the hydrant on DeSoto, E210 met with the EDPD who stated the dryer was in the basement to the right. E210 entered the structure with a pressurized water can to investigate. E210 noticed a slight haze in the area of the dryer, further investigation found the the tub in the dryer to be smoking with no visible fire. E210 requested MDFD personnel to come in and assist in removal of the dryer. The dryer was removed from the residence.

Investigation found that the owner notice smoke coming out of the dryer and called the fire department. The investigation found the dryer appeared to malfunction. The cause is accidental in nature and was contained to the dryer. Damage estimate is $1,200.

The fire department reminds everyone to call 911 in the event of an emergency.
