Does the snowstorm have you stuck in the house and looking for something to do? How about writing a letter to the future? We are excited to announce this unique time capsule project to celebrate the conclusion of the Town of Aurora’s year-long bicentennial. We invite you to take out a piece of paper and write a letter to your counterpart 50 years into the future. The president of a civic organization could write to the future president of that civic organization; a family could write to the future owners of their home; a business owner could write to the future owner of their business or building; or a Scout troop could write to the future members of the Scout troop. The letters will be sealed inside a time capsule box during a ceremony at the Aurora Town Public Library, at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 2. When the new town and village municipal center on Oakwood Avenue opens, the box will be put on display in the building, with instructions that it be unsealed and the letters delivered on April 15, 2068, as part of the Town of Aurora’s 250th anniversary commemoration. Everyone is welcome to participate, and it's easy! Visit the Town of Aurora's Bicentennial website to see how you can take part: www.townofaurora.com/departments/bicentennial
