During the last week of school, students traveled to beautiful Savannah for an exciting overnight field trip filled with learning, exploration, and fun! Students immersed themselves in the rich history and culture of the area with visits to the Pin Point Heritage Museum and a memorable ghost tour through Savannah’s historic streets. They also explored local ecosystems and marine life during a dolphin tour, where they learned about the coastal environment and had the chance to spot dolphins in their natural habitat. The adventure continued with a delicious meal at The Pirates' House and some well-deserved fun at Tybee Island, where students enjoyed the beach and even dipped their toes in the sand! This trip was a wonderful opportunity for students to make lasting memories, strengthen friendships, and bring classroom learning to life. We are so proud of our students for representing our school so well throughout the journey!

🦈📚 Sharks, let's keep reading all summer long! ☀️

Ms. Moore and Mrs. Carden loved seeing so many of our Sharks at the Pickens County Library System Summer Reading Kick-Off Event!

The Summer Reading Program starts today and runs through July 25th. Students and adults can complete their reading log through a combination of reading books and completing activities listed on the log. Along the way, they can attend exciting library events and earn prizes all summer long!

📖 Reading Log: and Summer Events Calendar can be found here:
https://pickenscountylibrarysystem.com/srp26/

⭐ Shark Bonus Prize Drawing! ⭐

Before turning in a completed reading log to the library, take a picture of it and email it to Mrs. Carden at [email protected]. Every Shark who submits a completed log will be entered into a special school prize drawing!

Also, be on the lookout for dates when Mrs. Carden will be at the library in Easley to help families sign up for library cards (adults: please bring a photo ID) and help Sharks choose books for summer reading. The first opportunity will be this Friday from 9:00–10:30 AM.

Let's show our community that Sharks are readers all summer long! 🦈💙

Over the past two days, many of our teachers participated in Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Launch Training led by Ms Clark. We use modules from PLTW in our Shark Tank, Coding Corner, and classrooms. During this training, teachers learned about the modules and resources PLTW offers. They got to experience Structures and Function: Human Body, Grids and Games, and Stability and Motion: Forces and Interactions. Today, teachers worked to explore a module they would like to implement next year and deeply explored the module as a facilitator. We can’t wait to see the amazing modules our teachers implement next year!
