🎷 An unforgettable experience for our Gettys Breakers! 🎶

The nationally renowned and award-winning Cerus Saxophone Quartet performed at Gettys on Friday for our students involved in Band, Chorus, and Strings!

From recently performing at Carnegie Hall to bringing their incredible talent right here to our Gettys campus, we are so proud to provide our students with opportunities to experience exceptional guest artists and live performances. At Gettys Middle School, the fine arts truly shine!

A very special thank you to the Tri-Art Series at the Brooks Center for the Performing Arts at Clemson University for sponsoring this amazing concert and helping make this experience possible for our students!

We are grateful for the opportunity to inspire the next generation of musicians and artists!

SDPC is beginning the search for our next superintendent.

Following 13 years of leadership, Superintendent Dr. Danny Merck will conclude his service at the end of the 2026–2027 school year. With advance planning, the Board of Trustees is beginning the search process now to support a thoughtful and seamless transition.

The search will be guided by our Innovate ’28 Strategic Plan and shaped by input from the people who know and care about SDPC — our students, employees, families, and Pickens County community.

🗣️ Your voice matters.

The Board of Trustees, in partnership with the South Carolina School Boards Association, is gathering community input to help identify the qualities, experience, and leadership priorities that should guide the search for SDPC’s next superintendent.

The first opportunity to share your input:

We were excited to kickoff High Fives with Heroes with the Easley High School's Youth in Government as our featured guests this morning!

Our student council students started the day with high fives and encouragement from leaders who are learning firsthand about civic engagement, leadership, and making a difference in their communities.

We love giving our Breakers the opportunity to see that heroes aren’t just people we read about—they’re people who choose to step up, lead, and serve!

Thank you, Youth in Government, for helping us kick off another great Thursday at Gettys!

Two of Gettys’ very best were celebrated last night as they represented Gettys Middle School as our Teacher of the Year and Support Employee of the Year!

Mrs. Brady and Mrs. Stone, we are so proud of you! You are both exceptional people and such perfect representatives of what makes Gettys so special. From the library to every corner of our school, your dedication, heart, and love for our students and our school shine through in everything you do.
