To the Juniors and Seniors of Earle High School,

Tonight is a milestone—one of those moments you’ll carry with you long after the music fades. On behalf of the Earle Police Department, we wish you an unforgettable prom filled with laughter, joy, and memories that will last a lifetime.

As you celebrate, we ask you to be mindful of what truly matters: your safety and the safety of those around you. Every decision you make tonight—whether it’s how you travel, who you ride with, or how you look out for your friends—has the power to ensure that everyone makes it home safely. No memory is worth a life, and nothing matters more to us than seeing each of you return home at the end of the night.

Celebrate big, but celebrate wisely. Look out for one another. Be the reason your friends stay safe.

A Short Prayer:
May you be surrounded by protection wherever you go tonight.
May wisdom guide your choices, and may peace guard your hearts.
May every road you travel lead you safely home,
and may the memories you create be filled with joy, not regret.
Amen.

Have an amazing prom—and come home safe.

Earle Police Department
Public Safety Advisory for Juveniles and Parents
Dear Residents of Earle,

The Earle Police Department is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all our youth. Effective immediately, we are implementing a curfew for all juveniles under the age of 18:
- Monday–Friday: All juveniles must be at home by 10:00 PM
- Saturday–Sunday: All juveniles must be at home by 11:00 PM

Parents and guardians, it is essential to know where your children are at all times. The streets of Earle are not a safe hangout spot after curfew hours, and we ask for your cooperation in keeping our community secure.

By working together, we can provide a safer environment for our youth and reduce the risks associated with late-night activity. The Earle Police Department thanks you for your attention, responsibility, and commitment to our community’s safety.

Drivers across Arkansas can expect to see more police on the roads next week as law enforcement agencies crack down on distracted driving from April 6 through April 13. 🚔📱

The campaign is part of National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s “Put the Phone Away or Pay” effort during National Distracted Driving Awareness Month.

Officers throughout Arkansas will be watching for drivers who are texting, scrolling, or otherwise using their phones while behind the wheel. Those caught can be stopped and ticketed.

Chief Atkins and Mayor Smith said distracted driving, especially cellphone use, continues to play a major role in serious and deadly crashes.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 3,275 people were killed and more than 324,000 were injured in distracted-driving crashes nationwide in 2023.

Officials recommend:

• Pull over before reading or sending a text
• Let a passenger handle calls or messages
• Turn on “Do Not Disturb” mode 📵
• Keep your phone out of reach while driving

Law enforcement officials say the goal of the campaign is to prevent crashes and save lives, not just issue tickets.

Safe driving can be adopted by these phone-free driving habits:
• Pull over and park in a safe location before using the phone to send or read a text message.
• Ask a passenger to be the “designated texter” and allow them to manage calls and messages during the drive.
• Avoid social media scrolling and any form of messaging while behind the wheel.
• Use “Do Not Disturb” mode to silence notifications.
• Drivers can put their phone in the trunk, glove box or back seat of the vehicle to break the habit of driving distracted.
