Please join us and show your support on this 25th anniversary of the September 11th attacks.

On Tuesday September 1st, the Montgomery County’s 9/11 Memorial will be transported in a procession from the Emergency Operations Center in Eagleville to its new, permanent home at Elmwood Park in Norristown. Procession starts at 9AM. Expect travel delays and multiple flag details along the route.

Lower Providence Fire Department has also been selected as one of the viewing points for the procession.

As we approach the 25th anniversary of 9/11, Montgomery County’s 9/11 Memorial is moving from Eagleville to its new permanent home at Elmwood Park in Norristown.

The public is invited to watch as the memorial travels through Lower Providence and West Norriton to Norristown.

Public Information - Training Session at Hoy Park

There is no emergency or cause for alarm.

Units are at hoy park tonight for water rescue training where responders are training on various techniques for land to water rescues.

The LPFD is proud to continue our support of our youth athletics programs! For the past two Friday’s, the LPFD provided a flag detail for the opening ceremonies of the Methacton Audubon Recreation Association hosted 12U and 8U state championships.

Congratulations to the 12U team on their successful championship bid last weekend and good luck to the 8U team on their pursuit of a championship title this weekend!

At 11:19am Station 53 with Tower 53 were dispatched with other mutual aid units to assist Station 46 with a reported Commercial Structure Fire.

Numerous calls were received reporting black smoke coming from the building. Chief 46 could see a large column of smoke coming from the area and called immediately for the 2nd alarm.

Deputy 53 arrived just behind the first arriving apparatus and completed a 360 survey of the structure to assist the incident commander. He noted significant fire from the rear (“C” side) of the building with significant fire spread along with fire from multiple 53’ trailers. He was assigned as the “C” side supervisor by incident command.

Tower 53 arrived shortly after as the 1st due truck company and were assigned to the “B” “C” corner and to setup for master stream operations. Shortly after a 3rd alarm was struck.
Crews operated for multiple hours in what would eventually become a 4 alarm response. Additionally, Pipeline 53 was dispatched as part of the LDH task force and pumped water into the scene from Trooper Road and Clarkhill Drive in Lower Providence.

Lower Providence units were released shortly after 5pm and replaced with additional units for overnight operations.

Thankfully, there were no injuries reported at this large incident.

The rain has passed, the sun is shining, and the midway was cleaned after yesterday’s storm.

Rides open at 3pm
Donuts 🍩 at 3pm
Food stands at 5pm.

Cabana will also have Pork Sandwiches.

We close at 9pm.
