AIR QUALITY ALERT FOR ALL AREAS OF Montgomery County, PA

https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1465729375587307&id=100064507761642

🟣Montgomery County has issued a Code Purple Air Quality Action Day for Friday, July 17. All County parks and trails will be closed to the public.

A Code Purple Air Quality Action Day means air quality is VERY UNHEALTHY for everyone due to elevated levels of fine particulate matter (PM2.5) from wildfire smoke. All persons should limit or avoid outdoor activities. Pets and other animals should be kept indoors to the extent possible.

📣Guidance on Limiting Exposure

📌Everyone: Limit outdoor physical activity and go indoors to cleaner air if experiencing symptoms like coughing or shortness of breath.

📌Sensitive Groups: Individuals with chronic conditions such as heart and lung disease, older adults, children and teenagers, pregnant women, and people with limited ability to reduce exposure to outdoor air should avoid all physical activity outdoors

📌Keep indoor air safe by closing windows. If you have air conditioning and your system allows it, consider using the indoor recirculating function and/or installing a high efficiency filter. If you do not have air conditioning, staying inside with windows closed may be dangerous in hot weather. If you are hot, go someplace with air conditioning. Check 211 (https://brnw.ch/21x4c7w) to find a cooling center near you.

📌Be aware that an N95 mask can provide some protection; however, surgical and cloth masks will not provide protection due to the size of the pollution particles.

Check current air quality at https://brnw.ch/21x4c7v or on the AirNow app.

If you experience severe shortness of breath or chest tightness, call 911 or seek emergency medical care immediately.

Plans changed, but the celebration didn’t. 🇺🇸

While the parade may be cancelled, Skippack Village is coming together for an Independence Day Block Party to keep the Fourth of July spirit alive and support the small businesses that make our community so special.

Here’s what’s happening tomorrow:

🛍️ 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Skippack Village Block Party! Shops throughout the Village will be open and ready to celebrate.

🚗 10:00 AM: Join our patriotic drive-through parade! Decorate your car and meet at Wawa before cruising through the Village together.

✈️ 11:30 AM: Keep your eyes on the sky for a special airplane flyover.

🔔 12:00 PM: Bring your bells and help us “Ring in the Sound of Freedom” as we celebrate America’s 250th birthday together.

🏠 EveryHome Realtors: Free 250th Birthday pinwheels & candy.

🍭 Sweet Rora’s: Treats, candy, and jumbo freeze pops.

🍹 Skippack Hope Chest: Bloody Marys & mimosas.

✨ Little Light of Mine: 25% off your purchase.

⛳️ Slowroll Golf & Social: Beer & Water and the pro shop will be open.

🎭 Playcrafters: Houses of Declaration featuring vocal performances and a reading of the Declaration of Independence. Doors open at 12:15 PM for light refreshments and a chance to cool off in the air conditioning.

The parade may be off, but the community spirit is stronger than ever. Come celebrate, support local, and spend your Fourth of July in Skippack Village! 🇺🇸

Watch out that these Data Centers will not be proposed for Skippack 19474 township or surrounding communities.
These are being proposed in several surrounding communities in Montgomery County. Keep an eye out for notices from Township meetings and the agendas.
