On May 25, 2026, at approximately 11:55 a.m., Eagle Police deputies responded to reports of a juvenile riding an electric motorcycle on the wrong side of the road and driving dangerously in the area of E. Hill Rd. and Highway 55 in Eagle.

When the deputy located the suspected electric motorcycle and attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the rider fled, accelerating away from the deputy. The deputy deactivated his emergency lights and siren and continued following from a distance while waiting for additional units to arrive.

As the deputy slowed his vehicle and approached Stephen C. Guerber Park near E. Celia Dr. and E. Hill Rd., the rider suddenly slowed and turned the electric motorcycle in front of the deputy’s vehicle, resulting in a collision. The deputy attempted to detain the rider, but the rider physically resisted before fleeing on the electric motorcycle.

The 16-year-old rider was quickly located by deputies outside a residence in Eagle. Due to the collision, the rider was taken by ambulance to a local hospital to be evaluated for non-life-threatening injuries. The rider was cited for multiple traffic violations and released to their parents. Eagle Police is routing the case to the Ada County Prosecutor’s Office for additional charges.

The Meridian Police Department is leading the investigation into the collision.

Here's a summary of the Eagle Police monthly stats for April 2026.

These numbers include both calls for service deputies responded to and proactive activity they initiated.

Citizen calls for service are generated through calls to Ada County Dispatch. Proactive activity is deputy-initiated and can include traffic stops, suspicious vehicles, extra patrol, follow-up investigations, and other self-initiated enforcement or prevention efforts.

We’re grateful for our community and their willingness to share any concerns they see within our community.

On May 18, 2026, at about 12:10 a.m., an Eagle Police deputy was driving eastbound on W. Chinden Blvd. when the deputy saw an individual riding an electric motorcycle westbound. As the rider passed the deputy, the deputy noticed the motorcycle was equipped with a headlight but no taillight.

The deputy turned around and began following the rider, during which the deputy observed the rider’s driving pattern become increasingly reckless and erratic as the rider accelerated, swerved between lanes, and drove into oncoming traffic. The rider also ran a red light.

The deputy exited his patrol vehicle and ordered the rider to stop. The rider accelerated toward the deputy in an attempt to drive past him. With little space between the patrol vehicle and the electric motorcycle, the deputy wrapped his arms around the rider and took him to the ground.

The deputy suffered a minor leg injury and was transported to a local hospital for evaluation, where he was later released.

The rider, identified as a 15-year-old juvenile male, was arrested and booked into the Ada County Juvenile Detention Center for {F} Fleeing and Eluding and {F} Aggravated Battery on Law Enforcement.

We know there have been some questions involving a recent school bus incident in Eagle. Eagle Police wanted to provide an update with the public as there have been some questions regarding law enforcement involvement.

On May 12, 2026, at approximately 3:55 p.m., Ada County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Eagle Police deputies responded to reports of a school bus driver keeping students from Eagle Middle School from exiting the bus due to an issue with a parent at a bus stop.

While deputies were in route, an additional report was received that a parent was at the door of the same bus armed with a knife.

Upon arrival, the deputies first contacted the male who was reportedly armed. He was detained while a deputy entered the bus to speak with the driver. It was later determined the parent at the door had a pocketknife clipped to his pants. When the deputy entered the bus, he detained the driver in order to gather additional information due to the nature and complexity of the call.

The children were able to exit the bus safely, so another deputy
could collect statements from them and get them to their parents.

It is important to note that after speaking with the district the bus driver was a substitute driver and followed all school district and bus company protocols and procedures during this interaction.

After further investigation, no citations or arrests have been made.
We appreciate the Durham Bus Company’s and West Ada School District’s cooperation in this investigation.

Meet Detective David Anderson!

Detective Anderson started his law enforcement career in 2002 with the Los Angeles Police Department. In 2008, he transferred to the Ada County Sheriff’s Office where he worked as a narcotics detective. For the last six years, Detective Anderson has been the School Resource Officer (SRO) at Eagle High School.

Detective Anderson works hard at everything he does, including building relationships with those he meets. He is willing to collaborate, he’s willing to try new things, and is always looking for ways to keep his students safe. His students find him approachable and trustworthy. Eagle High School’s admin team enjoys working with Detective Anderson so much, they put
his high school picture on t-shirts to wear around the campus.

In 2018, Detective Anderson received the Medal of Valor from the Ada County Sheriff’s Office and received the Idaho Medal of Honor in 2019.

Detective Anderson was recently interviewed by Kayley with Eagle High School’s Newspaper called The Stampede. Kayley asked him about his time as an SRO, to which Detective Anderson replied, “I absolutely love this assignment. I didn’t think I was going to…and I almost didn’t take it.” Kayley went on to explain how much Detective Anderson enjoys helping his students in any way he can.

In his spare time, Detective Anderson enjoys working out and spending time with his family playing Monopoly the card game and Yahtzee.

We’re excited he will be working this summer in the Eagle foothills, working to keep community members safe while enjoying the trails.

On May 5, 2026, at approximately 12:55 p.m., Eagle Police and Ada County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to an injury crash at W. Floating Feather Rd. and N. Downing Dr. in Eagle involving a vehicle and a motorcycle.

Preliminary information indicates that the 2010 BMW S1000 motorcycle was traveling westbound on W. Floating Feather Rd. A 2005 Toyota Sienna was traveling eastbound on W. Floating Feather Rd., making a turn onto N. Downing Rd. The vehicles collided within the intersection.

When deputies and paramedics arrived on scene, they immediately provided lifesaving aid to the 16-year-old male motorcycle rider. He was later transported by ambulance to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The 54-year-old male driver of the Toyota was taken to the hospital for evaluation for non-life-threatening injuries. He was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

W. Floating Feather Rd. was closed in both directions between N. Eagle Rd. to N. Ballantyne Ln. for approximately three hours.

This incident is currently under investigation by the Ada County Sheriff's Office Collision Reconstruction Team.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information is asked to contact [email protected] or non-emergency dispatch at (208) 377-6790. To remain anonymous, tips may also be submitted through the Ada County Sheriff’s Office mobile app, available in the Apple App Store and on Google Play.
