We had a successful free fishing day yesterday for our drop in Jr Ranger program!

We had a handful of families try their hand at our bass in the grass game where our seasonal interpretation rangers taught them how to cast. We also had 9 families loan out our loaner fishing poles, 16 poles total were loaned out for the day!!

Kids and adults alike also had the opportunity to learn fish facts and take some coloring pages with them.

Did you try your hand at fishing yesterday at our park? Share your photos with us! And if you missed the loaner poles and tackle boxes, don’t worry. They are always available at our rental office when it’s open.

Come on out to Eagle Island on June 13th, 2026 for free fishing day!

Come join Ranger George along with Ranger Ava and assistant Ranger Brooke as they will be offering a variety of activities for this day. Activities will be offered from noon to 3pm and our loaner poles are available when the office is open.

Our ponds are stocked with fish and ready for you to try your hand at fishing!

Please note these are free activities with a valid entrance pass into our park.

Hello Friends,

As you are out and about this Memorial Day, take a moment to honor and remember those who risked their lives to protect our country.

While recreating, we also ask that you adhere to all posted signage and abide directives given by park staff. Please be patient and understanding; this is one of the busiest weekends of the season. Be kind to your neighbors and respectful of the land.

The visitor center is now open on weekends and holidays. Come to the park to enjoy some swimming, paddle boarding, snow cones, fishing, camping, and so much more!

Ahh…… we missed World Bee Day yesterday 🐝!

Bees are responsible for pollinating many of the wild plants that create the stunning scenery in Idaho State Parks.

By protecting native vegetation, we provide essential habitats for these crucial pollinators.
Even if plants bloom early, bees might not show up right away!
Bees wait for consistent warmth (usually 50–55°+), low wind, and the right seasonal cues before becoming active.

When you visit us, take a moment to look closely at the wildflowers, you might spot a native sweat bee or bumblebee at work! 🐝
