Eagle County Conservation District

Conserving natural resources in Eagle County through collaboration, education, and cooperation

The District works in cooperation with various entities to accomplish their mission. On a local level the District works with the Extension Office in various programs such as the “Small Acreage Workshop” and the County Fair. The District participates in various conservation programs with displays and demonstrations such as the water trailer which explains the effects of water erosion. The District also provides scholarships for youth and teachers to several conservation workshops.

Colorado Drought Update 💧

Drought conditions continue to intensify across Colorado. The latest U.S. Drought Monitor shows nearly 78% of the state is experiencing severe drought or worse, with more than 40% classified as extreme to exceptional drought.

The Eagle River Water & Sanitation District (ERWSD) Water Use Regulations are currently in Stage III Water Restrictions, limiting outdoor watering to two designated days per week and only during approved overnight hours. Residents are encouraged to conserve water whenever possible.

🐺 Ranching with Wolves Intensive | June 24–25 | Salida, CO

Join Quivira Coalition for a two-day workshop to learn about and practice techniques that can help decrease herd vulnerability in wolf country.

The workshop will be taught by ranchers with extensive experience running cattle in wolf country and wolf conservation experts with training in stockmanship, herd management, and range riding. Participants will also have the opportunity to practice these techniques firsthand.
