Landscape standards became effective May 9, 2026, and Building standards start July 1, 2026, but they only apply to certain projects and do not affect all properties. These rules are not retroactive and only apply when a project meets the code requirements.

We are NOT automatically moving fire restrictions levels during a Red Flag Warning. Eagle County is under stage 1 fire restrictions.

* AFFECTED AREA...In Colorado, Fire Weather Zone 205 Colorado River Headwaters below 8000 feet.

* TIMING.. 1 PM to 9 PM MDT Tuesday.

* WINDS...West 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...10 to 15 percent.

* IMPACTS...Fires will catch and spread quickly. Exercise extreme caution with any outdoor burning.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.

As we move into the third week of June, the project has reached an important milestone, the water system installation is now complete. Crews will be shifting their focus to storm drainage work.

With this shift in activity, construction will move away from West 4th Street for now, and parking access in that area will be restored. As work continues in nearby locations, we encourage residents and visitors to stay alert in construction zones, plan alternate routes when needed, and allow for extra travel time.

We also encourage the community to continue supporting businesses impacted by construction along Capitol Street, as effects are being felt beyond the immediate project area. Your support makes a meaningful difference during this phase of work. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we continue making progress on these important community improvements.

Bike to Work Day is Wednesday, June 24th!

Celebrate by riding into work and stopping by one of Eagle's two bike stations, hosted by our local bike shops. One will be located in Eagle Ranch (near the intersection of Capitol St. and Sylvan Lake Rd.) and another one on Broadway this year. Get your bikes tuned and ready to roll this month!

As you hit the road or path, please remember Eagle's e-bike safety rules to help keep everyone safe:
-15 mph max on paths, sidewalks, and non-motorized trails
-Follow all traffic laws on roadways
-Helmets required for riders under 18
-Use permanent headlights/taillights when riding near dawn/dusk
-Yield to pedestrians and others, and ride on the right
-Respect where e-bikes are allowed (no soft-surface trails except Second Gulch; no BMX park)
