Congratulations to the 2026 Invasive Species Action Award winners!

These volunteers, professionals, individuals and groups have put in many hours taking action to help limit the impact of invasive species in our state.

These awards are presented annually during Invasive Species Action Month (June) by the Wisconsin Invasive Species Council, a governor-appointed council that advises the DNR and the state legislature.

Recipients represent all regions of Wisconsin and a variety of approaches to fight the spread of invasive species. Thank you for all that you’ve done!

We can help you learn to identify invasive plant species threatening our Northwoods habitats.

Celebrate Invasive Species Awareness Month this month by not selling or buying invasive plants like Japanese honeysuckle, woodland forget-me-not, or invasive types of barberry. Check the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources's NR 40 list before you plant!

Access the full NR 40 list at https://dnr.wisconsin.gov/sites/default/files/topic/Invasives/NR40plantlist.pdf.
