Behind every case is a person who deserves to be heard.

Today, members of the Maverick County Attorney’s Office attended specialized training on sexual assault forensic examinations and victim services.

Our Victim Assistance Coordinator and Office Manager joined law enforcement, advocates, and medical professionals to strengthen the partnerships and knowledge needed to better assist victims throughout the criminal justice process.

While much of this work happens behind the scenes, these trainings help ensure that those seeking help are met with professionalism, compassion, and support.

Thank you to all the agencies and organizations working together to make a difference in our community.

💙 Victims matter. Preparation matters. Partnerships matter.

During National Law Enforcement Week, we want to thank the community members who continue to show support and appreciation for the men and women who serve and protect Maverick County every day.

Today, our office was surprised with some awesome cupcakes in appreciation for our law enforcement officers and staff. Moments like these remind us how much community support means to those working long hours behind the scenes and in the field.

We were even able to get Chief Investigator Salazar to crack his award-winning smile for the occasion, which may have been the rarest achievement of the day.

From all of us at the Maverick County Attorney’s Office, thank you for your continued encouragement and support during National Law Enforcement Week. 👮🏻‍♂️🧁🇺🇸

Today I had the honor of participating in the CNA School Processes & Programs Committee meeting at Seco Mines Elementary as a parent representative for my three children who proudly attend the campus.

The meeting focused on developing the school needs assessment for the 2026-2027 school year and identifying ways to better support students, teachers, and families. I was proud to contribute from both a parent and community perspective and advocate for continued growth and opportunity for our children.

One of the biggest challenges public schools continue to face is funding, especially when it comes to keeping technology and educational resources updated for students. Through my work at the county level, I have helped bring in millions in grant funding for public initiatives, and I look forward to exploring potential grant opportunities that could help support Seco Mines Elementary in any way possible.

Thank you to the staff, educators, and community members who continue working every day to invest in the future of our children.

As part of National Law Enforcement Week, investigators from the Maverick County Attorney’s Office had the opportunity to join our local Texas Game Wardens on a patrol of the Rio Grande aboard one of their fan boats.

The experience provided valuable insight into the unique challenges faced along our river and the ongoing efforts to keep our community safe through interagency cooperation, vigilance, and enforcement presence.

From navigating the waters of the Rio Grande to even spotting local legend “Gary the Gator,” it was a reminder of the dedication shown every day by the men and women in law enforcement across Maverick County and the State of Texas.

This week, we proudly recognize and thank all law enforcement officers, first responders, and supporting agencies who continue serving and protecting our communities with professionalism, courage, and commitment.

The Maverick County Attorney’s Office appreciates the partnership and hard work of our Texas Game Wardens and all agencies working together to keep Maverick County safe.
